New Year’s Eve in London 2026: Fireworks, Events and Getting Back
New Year’s Eve in London 2026 ends with the Mayor of London’s fireworks over the Thames at midnight, and the official viewing areas by the river need a ticket. Tickets for 2026 went on sale on 23 October 2026. This guide covers how the fireworks tickets work, other New Year’s Eve events in London and how to get back to Mowbray Court Hotel in Earl’s Court afterwards.
New Year’s Eve London fireworks: tickets
The fireworks are launched around the London Eye. The official viewing areas on both banks of the river are ticket-only. Buy only from the official ticket seller named on the Mayor of London’s website: tickets from resale sites may be refused at the gate.
- The Blue zone on Victoria Embankment, between Westminster Bridge and the Golden Jubilee Footbridge, faces the London Eye.
- The Red zone, further along the Embankment towards Temple, has a side view.
Zones and gate times are printed on the ticket; check them before you go.
Getting to New Year’s Eve in central London from Earl’s Court
On an ordinary day the District line runs direct from Earl’s Court to Westminster (10–11 minutes) and Embankment (12–13 minutes). On New Year’s Eve some stations near the river close or are exit-only for crowd safety, so check the TfL travel information website for New Year’s Eve travel advice and plan your route back before you set off. Our Earl’s Court station guide explains the lines that run from Earl’s Court.
