Finding affordable hotels in Central London can feel like a compromise — either the price is right but the comfort isn’t, or the hotel looks great until you see the nightly rate. For budget-conscious travellers who still want a clean, comfortable stay with easy access to London’s top attractions, there is a smarter option.

Staying slightly outside the tourist-heavy zones — in well-connected neighbourhoods like Earl’s Court — allows you to enjoy Central London without paying Central London prices.

Why “Central London” Doesn’t Always Mean Central Location

Many travellers assume that staying in Central London automatically means better access to attractions. In reality, hotels in areas like Westminster, Covent Garden or Soho often come with:

Higher nightly rates

Smaller rooms

Street noise and heavy foot traffic

Less value for longer stays

What matters more than postcode is transport connectivity — and that’s where Earl’s Court stands out.

Earl’s Court: A Smart Base for Central London on a Budget

Earl’s Court is one of London’s most practical areas for travellers looking for affordable accommodation with comfort and convenience.

From Earl’s Court Underground Station, guests benefit from:

Direct Piccadilly Line access to Heathrow Airport

Fast connections to Kensington, Hyde Park, South Kensington and Central London

Easy travel to museums, shopping districts and business hubs

This makes Earl’s Court ideal for budget tourists, couples, families and business travellers who want value without sacrificing location.

Affordable Comfort at Mowbray Court Hotel

Located on a quiet residential street just minutes from Earl’s Court Tube Station, Mowbray Court Hotel offers a balanced stay for travellers who want affordability and comfort.

What Guests Appreciate Most

Comfortable, well-maintained rooms

Peaceful surroundings away from main road noise

Excellent transport connections across London

Practical amenities suited to short and extended stays

Unlike many budget hotels in Central London, staying here doesn’t mean compromising on rest, cleanliness or convenience.

Easy Access to London’s Top Attractions

Staying near Earl’s Court means you’re never far from Central London highlights:

Kensington Museums – Natural History Museum, Science Museum & V&A

Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens

West End theatres and shopping

Knightsbridge & Oxford Street

You enjoy all the benefits of Central London sightseeing — without the premium accommodation costs.

Ideal for Budget Tourists & Smart Bookers

Mowbray Court Hotel is particularly well-suited for:

Budget-conscious leisure travellers

International visitors arriving via Heathrow

Couples and families looking for value

Guests booking directly for better flexibility

Booking directly ensures clear pricing, accurate room information and the best available rates for your stay.

Affordable Doesn’t Have to Mean Basic

Affordable hotels in Central London don’t have to feel cramped, noisy or inconvenient. By choosing a well-connected area like Earl’s Court, travellers can enjoy:

Better room comfort

A calmer neighbourhood experience

Faster airport access

Strong value for money

Mowbray Court Hotel delivers exactly that — practical comfort, excellent location, and sensible pricing in one of London’s most accessible areas.

Plan Your Stay in Central London the Smarter Way

If you’re searching for affordable hotels in Central London without compromising comfort, Earl’s Court is a location worth considering — and Mowbray Court Hotel offers a reliable, budget-friendly base to explore the city with ease.

The post Affordable Hotels in Central London Without Compromising Comfort first appeared on Mowbray Court Hotel London.

London is one of the world’s most exciting cities — but it’s no secret that peak-season crowds can take away some of the magic. If you’re looking for a calmer, more affordable, and genuinely enjoyable London experience, February and March are two of the smartest months to visit.

With fewer tourists, better hotel availability, and easier access to major attractions, late winter and early spring offer a version of London many visitors never get to see. These months are particularly ideal for first-time visitors, couples, solo travellers, and anyone who wants to explore London without the stress of peak-season crowds.

Fewer Crowds Compared to Summer

From May through September, London’s most famous areas — Kensington, Westminster, Covent Garden, and the South Bank — are often packed with visitors. Queues are longer, Tube stations are busier, and popular museums can feel overwhelming.

In February and March, the pace is noticeably different:

Shorter queues at major museums

Easier movement on public transport

Less congestion around landmarks

A quieter, more local feel in neighbourhoods

This difference is especially noticeable around the Kensington museums, which are easily reached from Earl’s Court in under 15 minutes by Tube or on foot. For travellers staying in hotels near Earls Court Tube Station, this means spending more time exploring and far less time waiting.

Hotel Pricing Reality: Better Value for Central London

One of the biggest advantages of visiting London in February and March is the pricing.

Hotel rates in central areas tend to be lower than during spring and summer. This means you can stay in a well-connected location — such as Earl’s Court — without stretching your budget unnecessarily.

While London is never a truly “cheap” destination, travelling outside peak months makes central locations far more attainable, especially for travellers who value walkability and transport connections.

For guests who book direct with hotels, this period often offers:

Better room availability

More flexible date options

Stronger overall value compared to peak season

If location matters to your trip, visiting outside the busiest months makes staying central a realistic choice.

You can also read: Best Ways to Get to Central London from Heathrow Airport

Museums, Parks & Seasonal Attractions

World-Class Museums (Without the Rush)

London’s major museums are open year-round, and winter visits come with a major benefit: space.

From Earl’s Court, you can easily reach:

Natural History Museum

Science Museum

Victoria and Albert Museum

All within a short walk or a quick Tube journey. Visiting in February and March allows you to explore exhibitions at a relaxed pace, without the large tour groups that dominate summer months.

Parks in Early Spring

While February can still feel wintry, March often brings early signs of spring. Parks such as Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park begin to feel lighter and more inviting, yet remain far quieter than later in the year.

These early spring walks offer a calmer way to experience London’s green spaces before peak-season crowds return.

Kew Gardens Orchid Festival

One of the standout seasonal events during this period is the Kew Gardens Orchid Festival, typically held from early February to early March. It’s one of London’s most colourful winter attractions and is easily accessible by public transport from Earl’s Court.

If you’re visiting London during this window, it’s one of the few truly seasonal events worth planning around.

Indoor Attractions Perfect for Cooler Days

London excels at indoor experiences, making it an ideal city even when temperatures are lower. February and March are particularly well suited for:

Theatre and West End shows

Historic houses and galleries

Covered markets and independent cafés

Shopping areas such as Kensington and Knightsbridge

With fewer visitors in the city, many indoor attractions feel calmer, more spacious, and easier to enjoy.

Honest Weather Expectations

London’s late winter weather is cool but manageable.

Here’s what to realistically expect:

Temperatures typically range from 5°C to 12°C

Occasional rain, but rarely extreme conditions

Crisp, bright afternoons on clearer days

With a warm jacket, comfortable walking shoes, and a light waterproof layer, exploring London during this time is straightforward — and often more pleasant than navigating summer heat and crowds.

Why Earl’s Court Is a Smart Base in Winter

Staying in Earl’s Court provides excellent year-round connectivity, which becomes even more valuable during the winter months.

Guests benefit from:

Direct access to the Piccadilly Line, including Heathrow Airport

Fast connections to central London and major attractions

A quieter neighbourhood atmosphere in the evenings

For winter visitors, staying somewhere well-connected reduces time spent travelling and makes shorter days feel far more productive. Earl’s Court offers a practical, comfortable base for discovering London at a relaxed pace.

Final Thoughts

February and March offer a calmer, more affordable, and more authentic way to experience London. With fewer crowds, better hotel value, and easy access to museums, parks, and seasonal events, these months are ideal for travellers who want to enjoy the city without the pressure of peak season.

If you’re planning a visit and value location, convenience, and a more relaxed travel experience, Mowbray Court Hotel London is a practical choice for enjoying late winter and early spring in the city.

The post London Without the Crowds: Why February & March Are Great Months to Visit first appeared on Mowbray Court Hotel London.

Getting around London can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time visitors or travellers arriving from overseas. With multiple Underground lines, busy stations, and different transport options, choosing the right base can make a real difference to how smooth your stay feels. Earl’s Court Tube Station is one of those rare locations that simplifies London travel rather than complicating it.

Earl’s Court Tube Station is one of those rare locations that simplifies London travel rather than complicating it. Located on the District and Piccadilly lines, Earl’s Court offers direct access to many of London’s most visited areas, as well as a straightforward route to Heathrow Airport. For travellers looking for accommodation in Earls Court, London that allows easy movement around the city without constant line changes, this area remains one of the most practical transport hubs in West London.

Why Earl’s Court Is a Smart Base for Exploring London

Earl’s Court stands out because it combines strong transport connections with a calmer local environment. Unlike some central London stations that are crowded from early morning until late at night, Earl’s Court is easier to navigate and less stressful, particularly when travelling with luggage or returning after a long day out.

Staying near Earl’s Court allows visitors to avoid unnecessary travel time while still being well connected to Central London, Kensington, and key attractions. This balance is especially useful for short stays, business trips, or sightseeing breaks where time and energy matter.

The Piccadilly Line: Simple Routes to Airports and Central London

One of the main advantages of Earl’s Court Tube Station is direct access to the Piccadilly Line. This line is particularly important for visitors arriving in London by air, as it provides a direct Underground connection to Heathrow Airport.

From Earl’s Court, travellers can also reach popular areas such as South Kensington, Knightsbridge, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, and Leicester Square without changing trains. This makes day trips into Central London far easier, especially for those unfamiliar with the Underground system.

For many international visitors, the ability to travel from Heathrow to their hotel and into the city using a single Tube line removes a lot of uncertainty from the journey.

You can also read: Best Ways to Get to Central London from Heathrow Airport

The District Line: Flexible Travel Across London

The District Line adds another layer of convenience for guests staying near Earl’s Court. This line covers a wide stretch of London, connecting west, central, and parts of east London through straightforward routes.

From Earl’s Court, the District Line provides easy access to areas such as Westminster, Victoria, and Notting Hill. It is particularly useful for travellers who want flexibility rather than travelling to just one central destination.

Because Earl’s Court is a key stop on the District Line, trains are frequent and routes are clearly signposted, which helps reduce confusion during busy travel periods.

Reaching Central London Without Complicated Changes

One of the most common concerns for visitors is how easy it will be to reach Central London. From Earl’s Court, many of London’s most famous areas are reachable either directly or with a single, simple interchange.

Places like Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, and Leicester Square can be accessed directly via the Piccadilly Line. Other central locations are reachable with minimal changes, making Earl’s Court a practical alternative to staying right in the middle of the city.

This ease of movement is especially valuable for visitors with limited time, as it reduces time spent navigating stations and increases time spent exploring.

Easy Access to Kensington and South Kensington

Earl’s Court is ideally located for visitors planning to spend time in Kensington or South Kensington. South Kensington is just one stop away by Tube, and confident walkers may choose to reach the area on foot.

This makes Earl’s Court a convenient base for visiting the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Imperial College London. Staying slightly outside these busy areas often provides better value and a quieter environment, while still keeping attractions close at hand.

Airport Travel Made Straightforward

Transport to and from London airports is often a deciding factor when choosing where to stay. Earl’s Court performs particularly well in this regard.

Heathrow Airport is directly connected via the Piccadilly Line, allowing travellers to reach the airport without changing trains. This is helpful for early departures, late arrivals, or visitors carrying luggage.

Gatwick Airport is typically reached via Central London rail connections. While not direct, Earl’s Court’s strong links make the journey manageable and easy to plan.

Getting Around Day to Day

Travellers staying near Earl’s Court can rely entirely on contactless payment, mobile wallets, or Oyster cards. There is no need to purchase paper tickets, and daily fare caps apply automatically.

Because Earl’s Court sits outside the busiest Zone 1 stations, trains can feel less crowded, particularly during peak hours. This makes commuting and sightseeing more predictable and comfortable.

When Walking Is the Best Option

Another advantage of staying near Earl’s Court is walkability. Many visitors choose to walk to nearby areas such as Kensington High Street or South Kensington, enjoying local cafés, shops, and neighbourhood streets along the way.

Walking can often be quicker than travelling one stop by Tube and allows visitors to experience London at a more relaxed pace.

Who Earl’s Court Is Best Suited For

Earl’s Court is particularly well suited to first-time visitors, international travellers arriving via Heathrow, business guests, and anyone who values reliable transport and calmer surroundings. It is also a good choice for short stays, where ease of movement can make a noticeable difference to the overall experience.

Rather than focusing on being as central as possible, Earl’s Court prioritises efficiency, clarity, and comfort.

A Practical Choice for Exploring London

Choosing where to stay in London is not just about proximity to attractions, but about how easily you can reach them. Mowbray Court Hotel is located just a 6-minute walk from Earl’s Court Tube Station, one of London’s most practical transport hubs, offering direct airport access, strong Underground connections, and an environment that feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

This convenient location makes Mowbray Court Hotel London a sensible choice for travellers who want to spend less time navigating transport and more time enjoying the city, while staying in a well-connected and calmer part of London.

The post How to Get Around London Easily from Earl’s Court Tube Station first appeared on Mowbray Court Hotel London.

It was held on 26 December and allowed visitors and locals to experience the city in a leisurely and easily paced way after Christmas Day. London comes alive with activities that make Boxing Day a truly memorable experience throughout the year, from iconic shopping events and seasonal attractions to cultural experiences, especially for those staying at family-friendly hotels Kensington, which offer a convenient and comfortable base for exploring the city.

Boxing Day Shopping in London

The famous post-Christmas sales are one of the largest attractions during Boxing Day. Oxford Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden, and Knightsbridge are major shopping streets full of energy, with retailers having huge discounts. Most shops are open early, thus it is an ideal shopping day when the bargain hunters want to experience the colourful atmosphere in the London shopping world.

Holiday Rides and Christmas Extravagance

London has festive attractions that go on well after Christmas Day. Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is also a common Boxing Day event, with food vendors, rides, ice skating and performances. The events in winter are magical and seasonal throughout the city to enjoy with the family, couples, and friends.

Christmas at Kew Gardens

Christmas at Kew Gardens is one of the best Boxing Day experiences to visit. The light walk path will also make the gardens look like a winter wonderland of beautiful light shows, Christmas music, and winter snacks. It is a perfect night out event when one wants to have a peaceful and magical festive time.

Welling in London in its Parks

The royal parks of London provide serene and beautiful areas for Boxing Day. The best spots to walk during winter are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and Green Park, where visitors would have a chance to rest, breathe the fresh winter air, and enjoy the winter decorations of the city.

West End Performances and Live Music

There is a range of entertainment locations and West End theatres that are working on Boxing Day, providing diverse shows, musicals, and performances. Seeing a matinee or evening theatre play is an excellent way of spending the holiday season in London by witnessing world-class theatre.

River Thames Cruises

A Boxing Day Thames river cruise is an unusual experience to view the Thames and London landmarks. And between the Big Ben and the London Eye, it is the Tower Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral where the winter scenes can be witnessed and offer a grand adventure and relaxation in the winter season as compared to the busy streets.

Seasonal Visits to Dining and Pubs

It is also on Boxing Day when you should go out to enjoy the London food and drink scene. Classical pubs, home-style cafes and holiday restaurants offer their visitors a menu of the seasons, warm beverages, and cosy conditions. Numerous tourists have dinner after sightseeing the city or taking a relaxing beverage.

Boxing Day in London: Make the most of it

Boxing Day in London presents all this to its visitors with its combination of shopping, entertainment, festive activities, and cultural experiences. No matter whether you require an active day out or an easy walk in the winter season, the city has memorable experiences in the festive season.

Selecting the perfect place to stay ensures you can enjoy these events comfortably and conveniently, making your Boxing Day in London even more special. Mowbray Court Hotel Kensington provides an excellent base for exploring the city while enjoying a relaxing and well-located stay during the festive season.

The post Must-Experience Events on Boxing Day in London first appeared on Mowbray Court Hotel London.

Congratulations! You just arrived at Heathrow Airport and London’s calling! Sightseeing in the city that never sleeps is probably at the top of your mind. But hold your horses! Before you wander through the streets near Big Ben, downing fish and chips in front of the London Eye, or chilling out in the shade of Hyde Park, you need to get to central London first. It’s not that difficult, we promise. There are several ways to do it, and each has its pros and cons, depending on your mood, budget, and time. Grab a coffee, and let’s explore the easiest ways to make the first trip into London. And if you’re looking for a comfortable yet affordable stay, consider budget Hotels Kensington, offering great value and convenient access to central London attractions.

The Heathrow Express

The Heathrow Express train is the fastest and most straightforward way to get to central London. You won’t have to change trains or stations, and it’s a non-stop service all the way to London Paddington in about 15 minutes. That’s about the same time it takes by taxi, and you will save yourself the headache of driving in London traffic!

The Heathrow Express train itself is modern and spacious, with ample luggage space. You can’t miss the train because they arrive every 15 minutes, so this is your best bet if you are tired from a long flight and want to be in the heart of the city asap.

Tip: If you have the time, consider buying your ticket online in advance. You can get a discount that way, and tickets are usually cheaper than at the station.

The London Underground

Most of you will probably find it proper

Staof the trip in London by taking the Tube. You are in luck, because Heathrow Airport is directly connected to London’s Piccadilly Line. So after a stroll through Terminal 1 or 2, you can get on a Piccadilly Line train that will take you directly to the heart of London with no train changes or overground transfers required.

Yes, it will take a little longer than the Heathrow Express (about 50 minutes to places like Leicester Square or Covent Garden), but at least it will save you some money. And if you are in for the real London experience, it’s a nice bonus to find yourself squeezed between daily commuters and other tourists on the Underground on your very first Tube ride.

Tip: Get an Oyster card or a contactless payment card to tap on and off. You will find it much easier than paper tickets.

You can also read: London Shopping Epicenters: Shopping Places in London That Suit All Budgets!

Taxi, Uber, and Private Transfers

Ah, black cabs. Jumping into a cab at Heathrow and asking the driver to take me to central London is a rite of passage for tourists. It’s direct, you don’t have to change trains or stations, and you don’t have to drag your luggage across town on a crowded train. You do have to pay, though, and this is by far the most expensive of the three public transport options. The trip will cost between £ 40 and £ 60, depending on the amount of luggage you have and the duration of the journey. Traffic can be unpredictable in London. While it typically takes about 45 minutes to reach central London in good traffic, a few road closures and diversions can extend the journey to more than an hour.

Private taxis and pre-booked transfers are a bit more expensive than black cabs, but just as convenient and comfortable for the journey from Heathrow Airport. If you are traveling with kids, carrying multiple bags, or want to reduce the hassle, you might want to consider this a worthwhile investment.

Tip: Take only licensed black cabs from the official taxi rank outside the terminals.

Coaches, Buses, and Ride-Shares

You could also take it easy and get on a bus or coach to get to London. There are long-distance bus and coach services, such as National Express, that run from Heathrow to London Victoria Coach Station. It will be cheaper than the Heathrow Express train, but it will take you a while longer, usually over an hour. Check the timetable before you travel because coaches and buses don’t run as frequently as trains.

The seats are usually comfortable, and there’s plenty of luggage room too, so you can sit back, relax, and leave all the driving to someone else. If you are not in a rush, this is a great way to get into London on a budget and without all the hassle of trains.

Tip: Check the timetable. Buses do not run as frequently as the Heathrow Express trains, and they often wait for passengers before departing.

Conclusion

So, what is the best way to get from Heathrow to central London? The answer is, it depends on you. If speed is what you need, then there is no better way than the Heathrow Express. If you are budget-conscious, then the London Underground is ideal. If comfort and privacy are more your style, then a taxi or ride-share makes more sense. And if you are happy to take the long way, then coaches and buses are there for you too.

The most important thing is to enjoy the trip. A first-time arrival in a new city is always a bit of a thrill, and the journey from the airport to the city center can set the tone for the rest of the trip. So whether you are rushing into town on the Heathrow Express train, making that all-important first Tube ride into central London, or basking in the cab ride across London, one thing’s for sure: you are going to love it here. Central London is just a train, a Tube ride, or a taxi ride away from Heathrow, and your adventure is just about to begin. For a cozy and convenient stay after your journey, consider Mowbray Court Hotel in Central London, perfectly located for easy access to top attractions and transport links.

Why Earls Court is a Smart Choice for Visitors & Residents

Earls Court bridges the gap between local London living and visitor convenience. Positioned between Kensington, Fulham, and Chelsea, it gives you access to:

From seeing the statues to following his pawprints at the station, you will find lots of places to discover magical family memories left by Paddington. This is how you can transform a day in London into one your kids will never forget, and for a comfortable stay, you can also find accommodation Earls Court London, making your family trip even more convenient.

Start at Paddington Station: Where the Story Begins

Your first stop has to be Paddington Station. This is the starting point of Paddington’s journey in London, and your kids will be excited to see that they are in the same place where the Brown family discovered him. Seek the buckled bronze figure of Paddington Bear waiting to get his luggage on the station’s roof.

While at the station, do not miss the Paddington Bear Shop. There are plenty of soft toys, books and stuff to bring home. Children enjoy picking a tiny souvenir, a token that could even be their Paddington bear, that can tag along for the remainder of their travel plans.

Tip: Bring a camera! A picture with the statue must be in the family album.

Follow Paddington’s Pawprints Through the City

After visiting the station, the best bet is to search for more Paddington statues. London used to possess the Paddington Trail – the collection of unusual bear statues by artists and celebrities. The trail is no longer official, but there are still some places to see around the city as long as you keep your eyes open.

Encourage your kids to be mini explorers. Even a simple list of things to check could be made, and you can find out how many bears you can find with each other. It is a pleasant method to draw by children the interest to walk within the beautiful streets and parks of London.

Enjoy a Marmalade Sandwich Picnic in the Park

No Paddington day out is complete without marmalade! Bring a picnic basket and go to one of the beautiful parks in London. Hyde Park is in the vicinity and ideal for a family retreat. Prepare a little lunch in the picturesque setting, a blanket spread on the ground, and marmalade sandwiches to eat!

Let the children run rampant on the playgrounds, observe the swans on the Serpentine or take a pedal boat out in the pleasant weather. It is an ideal method of relaxing and getting some fresh air before moving on to the next place.

Step Into Paddington’s World at a Storytime Session

Numerous bookshops in London run children’s storytime events, and there are even some with Paddington Bear storytime. Be sure to investigate whether there will be some interesting and family-friendly reading during your visit.

Their children will be able to listen to their favourite stories read by other children who are also fans of Paddington. It is a relaxing stopover from the sightseeing and a fantastic way to stay in the magic.

Explore the Natural History Museum: Just Like Paddington!

Not technically included in the story of Paddington, the Natural History Museum will excite young minds nonetheless. Paddington himself would love the endless rooms with fantastic creatures, huge dinosaur skeletons, and touchable things.

Kids will get to imagine Paddington walking through the huge halls, peeping in on the wildlife exhibits and perhaps hunting down the marmalade jars huddled near the displays. It is free to enter, so including it on your Paddington-themed day is convenient.

Visit Little Venice: Boats, Bears, and Relaxing Walks

Little Venice is one of the most beautiful places in the Paddington neighbourhood. Not too far away, the station is through this area, and it is gorgeous with canals, painted boats and walking paths. Catch a gentle ride by jumping on a canal boat; the kiddos will also enjoy exploring the towpath at a slow pace.

Conclusion

When you finish your adventure, you will have more than photos. You will have ended the day with a laugh, adventure and some Paddington magic. Before going home, ask your children what their favourite thing was during the day. It could be the statue, it could be the marmalade sandwiches, it could be the ducks in the park. Whatever it is, your loved one will know that you gave them something of their own to tell others about and talk about years later.

Then it is time to put on your wellies, pack your marmalade sandwiches and take that Paddington journey around London. And when the day comes to an end, enjoy a comfortable stay at Mowbray Court Hotel Earls Court, perfectly located to make your London family adventure even more memorable. All you have to do is keep an eye on your sandwiches, but who knows when a certain bear will get ambitious and want to try one!

The post Things to Do in London with Kids Who Love Paddington Bear first appeared on Mowbray Court Hotel London.

When travelling to London for the first time, it can be difficult to decide where you should stay. Should it be Westminster, home borough of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the London Eye? Or the City of London, major financial centre and the place where you can see the Gherkin, the legendary St Paul’s Cathedral, and the stunning Leadenhall Market? Perhaps artsy Shoreditch is more your speed, or you’ve got Notting Hill aspirations, or you think riverside Battersea could be the move?

London is a richly varied city, but here at the Mowbray Court Hotel in London–not that we’re biased–we believe that our Earls Court district is one of London’s underrated gems, a neighbourhood that’s vibrant, convenient to the rest of the city, and full of its attractions and charms.

About Earls Court

The neighbourhood of Earls Court is in western London, in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is an area with a diverse and interesting population and a very long history. Here, you’ll find modern structures interspersed with Victorian-era buildings, lots of pretty pocket garden squares, some great shopping, and a truly international array of food.

Largely a residential neighbourhood, Earls Court has been home to luminaries such as children’s author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind, whodunit queen Agatha Christie, and horror legend Alfred Hitchcock. Even members of the British Royal Family have lived here–the late Diana, Princess of Wales and her sister-in-law Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, both lived in the neighbourhood at different points in their lives.

Things to See & Do in Earls Court and Surrounds

Earls Court is really in an ideal location; slung between the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham, we’re close to tonnes of iconic London landmarks. Kensington Palace, Hyde Park & the Serpentine Galleries, Brompton Cemetery, Garden Lodge (former home of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury), Stamford Bridge (where Chelsea FC play) are all very close by! Arts, culture, nature, history, sport and more are all alive and well in the vicinity of Earls Court.

If retail therapy is your favourite pastime, well, that’s covered as well–just fifteen minutes away, you’ll find Westfield London, one of Europe’s largest shopping malls. But there are also boutiques and charity shops in our neighbourhood, plus the iconic Portobello Road market with all its vintage treasures isn’t far away at all.

Dining in Earls Court

Whether you want a cheeky Nando’s or prefer finer dining, you’ll find something to suit your tastes in Earls Court. Just off the doorstep of the Mowbray Court Hotel alone, you’ll practically trip over vegan options, Thai, Lebanese, pizza, Chinese food, and the best greasy pub fare. There are humble takeaways, trendy bakeries and cafés, and even some upscale fare all within a few blocks–there are options suitable for all palates and budgets. One thing is certain: you will never go hungry or eat boring food in Earls Court!

Convenient Location and Transit Options

Earl’s Court Tube station and the adjacent bus stops are your gateway to Greater London at large. It’s terrifically easy to get around thanks to the abundance of public transportation options!

It’s not just convenient for getting into central London, either. Earl’s Court station services the District, Circle, and Piccadilly lines. If you’re flying into Heathrow Airport, you can get on the Piccadilly (Oakwood Station) train and be in Earl’s Court within 40 minutes. London’s other airports take one or two more transfers to get to Earl’s Court, but that’s still less expensive and about as convenient as hailing a cab or an Uber.

Summer is coming, which means that it’s time for Hyde Park to be transformed into the ultimate open air concert venue for the season’s greatest concert series: British Summer Time Hyde Park!

Always a fun and exciting time, BST Hyde Park is a massive event attended by thousands of enthusiastic music lovers each year. Each weekend from 27th June to 13th July, Hyde Park will be filled with revelers laughing, dancing and singing along to their favourites.

We at Mowbray Court Hotel in Central London hope that you’re ready for the excellent time you’re about to have! But we also know large events can be occasionally overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Always happy to do our part to help, we’ve put together a guide to show you how to have the most fun and safe festival experience possible.

Get Your Tickets–and the Official App–Now

If you don’t already have your tickets for the BST Hyde Park event of your choosing, now is the time to get them. Many of the larger headlining shows have already sold out or have very limited availability, so there’s no more time to waste.

Should the opportunity arise, grab a VIP package. VIPs get early access to the festival grounds, a prime sheltered terrace from which to watch your show, included cocktails and snacks, a concierge to assist you… talk about plush! It would make your experience not only comfortable, you’ll never forget it.

Whatever tickets you buy, once you do have them, you’ll need to download the official BST Hyde Park app. There are no paper tickets available; the app with access to your e-tickets will be your only means of entry. In addition to managing your ticketing, the app also has tonnes of useful information for you, such as lineups, park info, transit assistance, first aid locations, and more.

Keep Tabs on the Lineup

The lineup at BST Hyde Park is always epic, and 2025 is no exception. From pop luminaries like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo to living legends such as Stevie Wonder and Jeff Lynne, this year’s British Summer Time Hyde Park is really shaping up to be truly incredible.

The headlining acts will be joined by an equally stunning array of support acts, with all kinds of names on board–Beabadoobie, Finneas, Gracie Abrams, the Doobie Brothers, Yusuf/Cat Stevens and more will help light up the festival nights all summer long.

Some lineups are still being finalized and of course changes can always happen for a number of reasons, so make an effort to keep an eye on the lineup page to ensure you’re always up to date.

Know the Rules

BST Hyde Park prides itself on offering a safe, inclusive, accessible experience for everyone, whether you’re a single attendee, a family, a group of friends, what have you. To that end, they do have certain policies all festivalgoers must adhere to in order to maintain the safe environment for others. Some key points include:

–Unless you buy a special accessibility ticket, all festival spaces are standing only. While you can bring a blanket to sit on in designated areas, you won’t be allowed to bring any kind of chair, table, shooting stick seat, etc.

–Outside food and drink is not permitted–there will be food vendors and designated water bottle fill points on the festival grounds.

–There will be security screenings, and bags no larger than 297mm x 210mm x 210mm are allowed, in order to better facilitate the screening process.

–For a complete list of rules, policies, and prohibited items, check the British Summer Time Hyde Park website.

Don’t Miss the Midweek Fun!

The weekends might be for music, but BST Hyde Park also hosts an Open House during the week that’s free to enter and keeps the festival fun going! There will be events such as a Wicked singalong, plenty of Pride programming, DJ sets, and a tonne of family-friendly activities as well. If you want to keep up with Wimbledon, there will be daily screenings of the matches, and isn’t watching it on a big screen in Hyde Park almost as good as being there? The Open House days are definitely a perk of the festival no one should skip out on.

Helpful Hints

Remember that London summers can be changeable when it comes to the weather. Pack a folding poncho, a sun hat, and sunscreen in your bag.

There will be water refill stations around the park, bring a non-glass reusable bottle.

Download the Transport for London app to plan your journey to Hyde Park; public transit is the way to go.

Brmer Time Hitish Sumyde Park: Fun in the Summer Sun for Everyone!

There’s nothing quite like a BST Hyde Park experience, whether you’re a family singing “Isn’t She Lovely” together on a picnic blanket or a girl gang dancing and joyfully shouting the lyrics to “Espresso” at the tops of your lungs. Your experience here will be an indelible memory forever–and if we at the Mowbray Court Hotel Earls Court special offers can be a helpful, please let us know. We’d love to be part of what makes your Hyde Park summer of fun magical.

The post How to Enjoy the 2025 British Summer Time Hyde Park Concerts first appeared on Mowbray Court Hotel London.

London in spring is pure magic. The city thunders with renewed energy, tinted with a kaleidoscope of cheerful blooming flowers and longer, golden evenings. Public gardens are strung with tulips, riverside cafés flow onto sun-baking pavements, and smells of spring are in the air. From the hidden cultural corners of London to the most prestigious flower shows, the city sets itself out in all its glory in Spring. Whether you’re a culture seeker, a nature lover, or someone after the sun, this month offers the perfect opportunity to see the capital in a truly colorful way. And if you’re planning a visit, choosing accommodation in Earls Court London can make your spring time stay both convenient and budget-friendly.

The Chelsea Flower Show: A Floral Wonderland

There is no event at this time of year in London quite like the Chelsea Flower Show. One of the world’s most renowned horticultural spectacles, this horticultural garden design turned art is held on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, an elegant site. Walk around with the English blooms, blurring avant-garde installations into one riot of color, with a purpose placed behind every petal, not just for green thumbs but fashionistas and creative and curious travelers to soak in the floral creativity. Book early, don’t skip the artisan garden section, in which smaller plots have powerful stories about plants and the design.

Southbank Evenings: Food, Art & Riverside Views

When daylight reaches into the late evening, London’s South Bank becomes an open-air stage of culture and conversation. Options to start your night include a stroll along the riverside, past street performers, local musicians, and book markets before ending up at one of the pop-up bars or food trucks that line Queen’s Walk. The National Theatre and Southbank Centre are very close by, so there’s always something thought-provoking to see in the form of a chosen play or outdoor art installation. If you want to step up a notch, time your visit with the sunset because the Thames then casts a golden shimmer right across the city, even making Londoners step aside in awe.

Al Fresco Adventures: Parks, Picnics & Pubs

London’s parks become the beating heart of the city in Spring. Picnicking couples and friends lounge in the sun around Hyde Park. Regent’s Park delights with vibrant flowerbeds and rowboat rentals on the lake. Hampstead Heath offers hilltop views and wooded trails that feel a world away from the city buzz, giving off a slightly wilder vibe. After a day in the park, it’s fun to follow the locals to a classic beer garden like The Spaniards Inn in Hampstead—a historic pub with bellwether wisteria and an unbeatable Sunday roast. For those planning a longer stay, Earls Court apartments for rent provide a well-connected and comfortable base to enjoy both green spaces and city life.

Hidden Spring Gems: Local Markets & Cultural Pop-ups

May also sees London’s smaller scenes come to life beyond the major attractions. Often, the surrounding streets of Columbia Road are littered with indie boutiques and hidden courtyard cafés that burst into color, not just its famous flower market. Unexpected rooftop cinema nights take place in Peckham, and Islington’s hidden squares jump into life with impromptu jazz. May is full of surprises, which can only be found by walking without a map and following the smell of something good cooking.

Conclusion

In Spring, London is a love letter to the senses—an aerial wonder where the scent is on every hand, the sound echoes in every ear, and ever rejoicing, the sun is giving everything a glow. Every corner of the city is absolutely special: floral extravaganzas, lazy park afternoons, riverside sunsets, and many other things. The Mowbray Court Hotel London is your spring base — Kensington, and it’s the best starting point. This place has a perfect location, proximity to Chelsea, Southbank, and London’s big parks, and good, modern amenities for both weekend wanderers and seasoned city strollers. The best rate of flats to rent earls court and warm welcome in the heart of London is to book directly And don’t let the season go by —Spring in London is ready.
